Best Things to Do In Penang!

Ahh,Penang, the Jewel of the Peninsular Malaysia. After so many years,it is nice to see that despite the hustle and bustle of modernisation, Penang is still a favourite among holiday revellers.

Following my umpteenth trip to Penag last week,i have composed a list of 'MUST DO-S' when you are in Penang. Here it is:

1) Persiaran Gurney Hawker Centre-always full during the nite no matter weekdays or weekends. Must Trys include Fried Oyster, Penang Asam Laksa, Ice Kacang -Rm2.50,and Grill fish.

2)Lorong Selamat Famous Cendol- This stall has been ever existent for more than 20 years, appeared in The Star,New Straits Times, etc. Very sweet and refreshing cendol. Nothing you can get in Kuala Lumpur, only in Penang.

3) Eat Famous Local dishes- The best food in Penang is undoubtly located at some of the dirtiest places in Penang. Must have is Penang Asam Laksa rm2.70 at bottom of Kek Lok Si Temple. There is a seafood restaurant at the deep end of Batu Ferringhi whih serves great seafood-large mussels, crabs, prawns, fishes.

4) Visit Kek Lok Si Temple-it doesn't matter which religion your faith is,here, you will see Indians,Chinese, and Malays. Very uplifting and the sellers speak good English! GO 1 Malaysia!

5) Visit the Local Goods Nite Market at Batu Ferringhi-almost synonymous with the name Batu Ferringhi, you will find all types of Branded goods being sold-bags,purse,wallets,Ray Band sunglasses, unique handcrafts. For me,the best thing is the Dvds selling at rm 4 per disk. Super super cheap and super super illegal, but who can resist the temptation to buy them? Even the foreigners were buying them like hot cakes. Ps- of the 15 dvds i bought, all of them were superb quality!

Viva la Penang!

Skytrex Adventure-Big Thrill!

I had heard a lot about how exciting Skytrex was and couldn't wait to experience it myself.

Boasting 22 challenges, the Big Thrill certainly packs a tough punch. On event day,21 December 2009, we arrived just on time at the venue at Bukit Cahaya,Shah Alam.

After a short bus shuttle to the Skytrex area,we were give a briefing by Mr Julien Rapellin, the director of Skytrex. Next, we geared up and had a training session on how to use the carabiner and pulley and safety.

Gearing up.

The Big Thrill course was supposed to accomodate beginners who don't like things to be too easy.

The first challenge was a stunning ladder climb up 15 metres. Unforgiving, relentless,it was hard just trying to catch my breath. A look down sent shivers down my spine but i kept pushing.

The other challenges were 'CRAZY ZIG ZAG, ROCKET FLYING FOX, SLIPPERY TUBE(Which was the hardest in my opinion), TARZAN SWING, and the final finale of Flying fox over a distance of 50 metres. WOO HOO!

Overall,a great experience,i had a great time with all my friends and though we ended with tired limbs and sore fingers,it was worth it! We conquered it!

Next up, Extreme Challenge!

Value of Being Consistent!

First up, i have to really apologize for taking so long to update my blog!

Secondly, well, probably the reason it has taken me so long to update is because a lot of things have happened recently. To go into detail but be like watching paint dry.

Anyway, i believe that consistency is a commendable value. Over the past few weeks,i have noticed that whether in life, studies,or social interaction, you have to have consistency.

If you consistently lie to someone, when he or she finds out,you will look like the biggest fool in the world. If you consistently push towards doing something,no matter how tough the challenge is,it can be conquered.

Especially in studies. I always believe that all you need to succeed well in studies is HARDWORK AND CONSISTENCY! Without either one,you can never truly do well in the long run. Same goes for a course like ACCA,you have to work extremely hard at a consistent pace rather than swallowing everything last minute!

Apparently,my last post attracted quite a lot of publicity. Had a comment that read 'you should expose your eyes more and not think that success in money is only that narrow'. Which made want to point out that my main point in the post was that 'to achieve success, you need passion above anything else in the long run 'happiness conquers money' and i would take that any day in my life. Feel free to comment on this debate!

Till next time, live life as if it is the first day of school!

Finally! Back,Alive and Kicking!

First off, apologies for taking so long to update my blog. I have gone through so much in the last few weeks that i hardly had time for anything else.

So,quick updates of what has happened lately:

1) Went through Progress Test 2 which was extremely draining to say the least.
2) Had classes even after my test back to back. Acca requires passionate people who are willing to go through these challenges no matter what.
3) Been trying to do some soul searching lately.
4) Learned that you have to keep your cool even when circumstances are not fair upon you.
5) Just went for Toastmasters Contest in Sime Darby Medical Centre. Was quite impressed with a few speakers.

S0,that's basically it. Of course, small incidents here and there, but of not much importance.

I have been saying this for quite a while now and i still believe entirely in it. Everyone knows (or at least i do) i can be extremely passionate about something if i really am into it. Still, i have yet to find my ultimate passion in life. Am beginning to feel like the 'person who just go through life and ended up forever chasing happiness'. Perhaps i should just take a chill pill like 'everyone else' does, but i feel that ignorance is just plain laziness. In the end,you will suffer the consequences.

Deep down, everyone of us may have at one point of time, dreams and big goals that we set out to do. However, along the way, rocks, rivers, and wrong signs , push our limits to the maximum. Some people,at first sight of hardship, quit. Some people go on,but not the whole way. Some just decide that they will just pursue their goals only if it is 'convenient' for them to do so.

Whoever say achieving big success is easy? It requires passion and determination to persevere whatever that comes in our way. Without these,we can never get anything accomplished with 'half past six' attitude.

'People will always do more to avoid pain than to gain pleasure'. Think about this last sentence. Short, but it clearly sheds light on why some people are so successful and some are not.

To passion and determination to make the most in life!

I Can Do This

Ask and you shall receive.

Simple phrase but rarely it is practiced by many people.

With the next few weeks promising to be a bloody war,i think i should take the time to tell myself before going into battle- I CAN DO THIS!

The more number of times you say this to yourself ,i believe you will reach it by hook or by crook!

So,no more whining or complaining or regretting the time lost!

Accept the predicament and challenges that face you,and work with what you have with whatever time you have left.

And even if in the end,you fail to achieve your target, you will get stronger the next time!

I CAN DO THIS!

Talk Less, Do More!

I have been a bit disturbed by something lately.

I find that i was quite unhappy with a lot of small things lately. All the petty stuff adds up making me feel frustrated and eventually just taking it out on other people.

Small things like not having enough time for work, reaching home late, class after class, expecting friends to do something but they did not, in the end it just boils up inside me.

However,i soon realize that life will always try to pull you down,it's how hard you can take it and keep pushing, not giving in and blaming others when the going gets tough.

My dear lecturer once sent me a sms,

SMOOTH ROAD NEVER MAKES A GOOD DRIVER,
SMOOTH SEA NEVER MAKES A GOOD SAILOR,
CLEAR SKIES NEVER MAKES A GOOD PILOT,
A PROBLEM FREE LIFE NEVER MAKES A STRONG PERSON,
BE STRONG ENOUGH TO ACCEPT THE CHALLENGES IN LIFE!
DO NOT ASK LIFE, ''WHY ME?''
INSTEAD SAY '' TRY ME!''
WHEN YOU ARE READY FOR THAT,
YOU ARE A WINNER!

I realize that sometimes, you just have let things be as it is,you may not have control over it,but as long as you know you have done your part, your best, there is nothing to regret over.

ACCA Exam Results! The good and the ugly..

Results! Results! Results!

During the entire class on Monday Morning, everyone could barely concentrate on what the lecturer was saying. In everyone's mind (mostly), results are coming out at 12pm! Gosh, how will i do? did i do enough to pass? what if i didn't get what i want?

Coincidentally , it was also my friend's Ee Laine's Birthday! (the GOOD)We had a nice time eating at this great restaurant called Ah Lyes Fish Curry Head after the class ended at 11am. YUMMY FOOD and we took lots of pictures and joking around. Some wanted to watch a movie after lunch then only check the results, but i think some were nervous about the results also when the clock struck 12pm.

Just then,as i was in the bathroom after eating, (the UGLY) Julian called. He straight away asked me about my results and told me his. Sincerely i was happy with him when he told me he passed all his papers beyond expectation, but i was a bit uncomfortable, let's put it that way, with the tone of his voice. He sounded insulting at the same time and more so on the next phone call. Sometimes i feel people should have the humility to treat people with respect.

So,after that,i did a stupid thing. In retrospect,i should not have told my classmates about Julian's call right after, because they all wanted to check their results right away. No movie, and the mood dampened a bit. Thus, they drove to Siew Lai's place to check altogether while i drove home to check mine. While driving home, honestly,i had cold shivers and was extremely nervous.

When i finally arrived,i did a prayer and prepared. Signed in into Hotmail, and immediately when i did that,i received an email ''RESULTS ACCA ONLINE''. Clicked on it,could barely breath and scrolled down slowly. PASS,PASS,PASS,PASS. I should have been very happy, and i was,but i felt a tinge of disappointment when i saw F4-80 Marks. I tried my best, but sometimes maybe the luck of the questions was against me.

Overall,a frantic day. To one of my friend,do not give up ok. There is always a second chance. Strive harder next time!

Where's Your Spontaneity, My boy!

SPONTANEOUS!
  1. The quality or condition of being spontaneous.
  2. Spontaneous behavior, impulse, or movement.

As i write this post,it is 10.51am on a beautiful Saturday Morning,i have watched GI JOE 2 times in 2 days, and i am going to watch 2 more movies in the next 2 days. I did a spontaneous love song dedication through Red Fm's Nisha Late Nite Love Songs few days ago while driving back from Toastmasters. Speaking of Toastmasters,i spontaneously bought packets of sweeties for my Club's 21st Anniversary celebration at a petrol kiosk.

Thinking back,it ACTUALLY FEELS GOOD BEING SPONTANEOUS.

There was once a saying, ALWAYS LOOK AT BOTH SIDES OF THE COIN TO ENRICH YOUR LIFE.

Do something you never thought you would have the bravery and courage to do so. Watch a movie by yourself right after class, chit chat with a stranger, tell jokes to random people or just act crazy all the time.

3 weeks ago,on Monday after my class ended at 11am,i drove back when i heard the cue-to-sms for Red Fm Cd of the week giveaway. I had no idea what cd it was but i just sms. Few seconds later after i smsed,i got a phone call from Aly,red fm's dj! It was adrenaline rush, just listening to my voice on the radio. Haha, and i got the 1,2,3,4 I love you album.

Add colour and vigour into your life by being cuckoo. Defy people's expectations by doing things that other people would never even try to do. Trust me,it will bring you places and give you experiences that will amaze you most and break your boundaries!

Do You Believe In Fate?

Do you believe in fate?

I repeated the question again because i have asked the same to myself countless time in my young 20 years of living.

A quote that i have always believe in came from the Terminator Movies
-THERE IS NO FATE BUT WHAT WE MAKE FOR OURSELVES-

My heart sticks with this quote because what it really says is 'if you want something,go and get it. Do not wait for something to happen! Make it happen!'

This quote is also a wake up call for people who are just lazy, waiting for the one lucky day that they strike lucky, and win the 50 Million lottery. NO,it's not going to happen!

Recently though, thinking back,i believe that things just happen as steps. Steps that will lead on to bigger things when it will all finally come in one place.

When i was rejected countless times in the past,i felt terrible. The day i found out i won't be able to study overseas, when i got rejected for my SHELL interview, when i felt alone among all classmates, when i got rejected by my crush.

Now i realize that those were just small steps. What it all really meant was my time wasn't ready when i will fly. Same goes to everyone out there. No matter how hard you try at something,if it doesn't work, sometimes it's just that your time has not arrived to be a STAR!

My advice to you is this,
DREAM BIG ,AIM HIGH FOR THE SKY, FOR IF YOU SHALL FALL,AT LEAST YOU WILL REST AMONG THE HIGH CLOUDS! THE HARDER YOU WORK,THE LUCKIER YOU GET! AND FATE RESIDES WITH THOSE WHO TAKE THAT EXTRA MILE!

Nothing Is Impossible, Impossible Is Nothing!!!

One week has past, just like that!
Seriously, Albert Einstein was right..
Time is Relative!

The genius orated that '' time is ever so relative. It's simple. If a guy sees a hot woman goes by,to him a few seconds would seem like a flash, but if he touches a hot stove,a few seconds would seem like eternity!''

Brilliant words... This past week,i have discovered that life is ever moving so rapidly. There is no such thing as constant, you have to keep on adapting, evolving according to your circumstances. It is more than ever, survival of the fittest!!!

I have learned that when you are faced with a new challenge, what do you do? If you know that it will push you out of your comfort zone, will you take up the challenge? Or will you be like me,calculating the pros and cons? I hate the second method, but 9 times out of 10 ,you have to make a sacrifice in one way.

Take the SUNWAY STUDENT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. I was shortlisted but i was so unsure whether it will affect my studies. Will the benefit of it outweigh the cost of missing classes potentially, having less time for myself and studies? What do you say? Being an Acca student, admittedly, time management is everything. So we have to calculate the OPPORTUNITY COST!

In the end,a phrase came into my mind. I got to know it from my friend,Chew Teck Seng, who persuaded me to join Toastmasters Contest recently which i won 2nd runner up. If it hadn't been for his morale boosting phrase,i wouldn't have known my potential.

He said this,

"NEVER SAY 'IT CAN BE DONE,BUT IT'S HARD' ,BUT SAY 'IT IS HARD,BUT IT CAN BE DONE'"

So,a new adventure beckons. In a few months time,i may regret joining. But at least i know, that no matter what happens, i did give it my best shot!

A special thank you to my gf,who provided me with the elegant title above.

Nothing Is Impossible, Impossible Is Nothing!!!

WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH,YOU GET TOUGHER!

Another piece of wisdom from ms Joyce,my f6 lecturer.

"WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH,YOU GET TOUGHER WITH IT!"

I personally think it is so true considering my past week. First off, after my class on Monday, wanting to steal precious moments to release stress, went to watch Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 alone right after class. Lol. It was a great movie nonetheless! Plenty of action and tense moments. I have to say,John Travolta is a brilliant actor. Go watch it! I lost count though how many times the Ministry censored the word F**K..

This whole week i have been particularly occupied by the Sunway Toastmasters Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contest . I kept on changing my speech! My final presented speech was made a day before the real contest!

Anyway, jeng jeng jeng! When i finally presented my humour speech on contest nite on Thursday July 30,i would say it was better than i expected. Got people to laugh out loud more than once. The bummer thing was i went overtime by 12 seconds! haih.. sad case, but great experience just to know i can make people laugh.. hehe..another milestone achieved.. A note-the audience was quite big, very encouraging to see and ACCA students were there too! woo hoo!

As for the Evaluation Contest,i managed to win 2nd runner up spot. Honestly, being the first speaker to give my evaluation before the other 4 ,i thought i didn't do too well. Unexpected but quite happy. Gives me motivation to keep on improving. For all you guys and gals out there who want to get involved in something inspirational, join Toastmasters! Believe me,it is life changing!

Happy news for me this week was celebrating my dear friend Sean's surprise birthday party! WOO HOO! He was too speechless to speak.. haha.. had lots of fun, food was great, fooled around towards the end,it was just fantastic that night! Happy turning 21,bro!

Now,trying to juggle all this with my studies is actually quite tough. Sacrifices have to be made ( i haven't seen my dear gf in a while) and push when others are still. The whole exam cycle of Progress Test 1, Progress Test 2, Mock Exam, Exam Driven Course, Final Acca Exam is about to begin soon. Hard? you bet. And all in the space of 4 months. sometimes,i really do wonder why some people join ACCA. All this for a measely 2 weeks holiday after that before the new semester starts again. You cant really do anything else besides studying.

But like Ms Joyce say,if you aim for the sky, even if you fall, you will land on the golden trees.. so just tell yourself ,take one thing at a time, and you will make it through, not just passing, but with flying colours! Go go go!

NEVER DOUBT YOURSELF IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING!

First off, my apologies for not updating my blog earlier. A lot of things happened simultaneously in the past week.

Well,just a quick summary-
1) Studies and lessons are picking up. Trying my best to catch up and adapt. Hopefully it works out well.
2) My June 2009 exam results are coming out on AUGUST 17! Not to mention it is Progress Tests week! Gambateh!
3) Currently reading a book written by a person widely regarded as the best mutual fund stockpicker in the 1990s- ''BEATING THE STREET'' by Peter Lynch. So far,it has been really absorbing, aside from a few friends comments that they can never read such books.lol
4) Finally did something with my virtual investing account at INVESTOPEDIA.COM. went and bought around 10 stocks. So far, after 3 days, average annual return 3.89 %. Ps-my Ebay stock went up 15 % in 2 days! too bad i only bought 250 units, too small amount. Right now though ,my largest amount is in SATYAM COMPUTER SERVICE,the company who got involved in a scandal. Price currently $5,but it's a solid company. Updates on my investing journey in future posts. For everyone out there who wants to go into investing-try out this website!

5) My Humourous Speech contest is in 1 week!haven't been getting around it
T.T

Anyway, what has all is got to do the title of the blog!
Well,i have found some great advice from my f6 lecturer, and this is one of them.
If you want to pursue something, believe in it and just go all out heartedly!
Never doubt yourself!
Keep reminding yourself that you can do it!
People may doubt you,may want to see you go down, may try to bring you down with them, but have the faith in yourself!
In the end ,shall u even fail,at least you know you have learned something!
Keep on trying!
Always see the greatest problem as the greatest opportunity!
To SUCCESS!

WHAT A LEARNING EXPERIENCE!

WOW!

As i am writing this post, assignments and homework await me,there is a contest coming up which i have not prepared anything, and i haven't had the time to read my magazines that are lying by my table.

By the way,i just signed a 2 year new subscription for Time and Fortune magazines =) go figure!

Honestly though, the reason i said WOW is because this week i have gained so much!

Firstly, being elected as a class rep for 2 subjects presents a new challenge for me. May i learn a lot from it :)

Secondly,i realise that it really works.. The saying ''treat others the way you want to be treated''. I've been keeping in mind that saying and it really does makes your life more beautiful and meaningful!

Thirdly,i met a really successful person (in my eyes) in the form of my F6 lecturer. Do not take it the wrong way,but she epitomises the kind of personality i would like to have in the future.
Ie-loving life doing what she loves to do, passionate, fearless, humorous and a go getter!
Being an Acca student with First class honours in Sunway, she is a living example of great role model!

Time is MONEY! I recently bought a book by the famous Robert Kiyosaki(of Rich Dad Poor Dad fame) and this is one of the most important lessons. Every minute you waste is another opportunity wasted. For example ,if you waste 6 hours a day,and assuming your life span is 80 years, you would have in the end wasted 20 years of your life!

So ask yourself rite now, ARE YOU MAKING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TIME? OR ARE YOU FACEBOOKING,MSN-ING, SKYPING, MY SPACE-ING, SMSING ADDICT ALL THE TIME? IF YES, CUT IT OUT!

One more thing though, In chasing the biggest things in life,we tend to miss out the smallest things that means the most to us which are right in front of us. Never make that mistake!

The Most Important People Lesson You Can Ever Learn!

Last week,i had an awakening. A realization that had such a profound effect emotionally on me.

I realised that the most important people lesson in this world is

Treat others the way you would treat if you were them.

11 words. And yet, there is a message in those words that is utmost pivotal for anyone, especially in our society where people are mostly judged by their appearance than their inner personalities.

First impressions matter most to some people today unfortunately, which is why to the more talented but less attractive appearance-wise are getting overlooked day by day.

You hear it everyday. Teenagers are divided into 'nerdy geeks' or 'cool'. There is no in between.

For the 'cool-looking dudes/bi***es', some are humble, knowing that they are blessed physically. But IT IS THE OTHERS WHO THRIVE ON MAKING THE MOST OUT OF THEIR LOOKS WHO ARE DARNRIGHT MALICIOUS! THOSE WHO ENJOY TEASING THE LESS GOOD LOOKING WHILE ENJOYING THE LIMELIGHT. To them,it is just a joke.

But for the victims,it is pure hurt and hell. Victimization leads to isolation from society which eventually causes depression.

I was a VICTIM IN THE PAST.

Trying to shine, optimistic, but it all fell apart when i was less judged by other people.
It hits you so hard emotionally that you just want to hide yourself. When you face people, you do not dare look at their faces because you feel insecure. And it drives you crazy because you KNOW DEEP DOWN IN YOUR HEART,YOU WANT TO BETTER,YOU DESERVE BETTER! BUT YOU FEEL HOPELESS!

I have learned, that in life, you WILL DEFINITELY MEET THIS TYPE OF PEOPLE!

You have to avoid them at all costs.

Which brings to my original message. In life, always treat others the way you want to be treated if you were them!

I believe in karma. Fine,if you feel like embarrassing me or humiliating me today,i can take it. Because i know one day,you will get the same in return.

There is a saying
- Be careful of how you treat people on your way up,because you will meet them again on your way down-

Great Quotes to Live by!

-- I am the SOURCE of all my emotions. NOTHING AND NO ONE CAN CHANGE HOW I FEEL EXCEPT ME. If i find myself in reaction to anything, i can change it in a moment.--

--There are NO BAD EXPERIENCES in life. No matter what i go through in Life, EVERY EXPERIENCE provides me something of value if i look for it.--

-- Avoid consistently DEPENDING ON THE ACCEPTANCE OF OTHERS for your ULTIMATE HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS.--

-- There is no such thing as FAILURE. I AM HAPPY THAT NO MATTER WHAT,AT THE END OF THE DAY,I CAN SAY THAT I HAD MY SHOT AT GLORY,UNLIKE MANY OTHERS WHO TRULY GIVE UP TRYING. That is the ULTIMATE FAILURE. --

3 Steps to Instantly Drive You to Success!

Can change happen in an Instant?

Think about it for a moment. Remember the last time you quit smoking? or decided to stop procrastinating, and that no matter what, you must start studying already? or you finally made a decision to start going to the gym regularly when you realize people are staring at your enlarging belly?

That was change. And at that very moment, change happened! Just like that!

Thus,it is no doubt that change DO HAPPEN IN AN INSTANT!

Now,think of the possibilities. This means that,no matter where you are in your life right now,if you truly desire for more than what life is giving you at the moment, you CAN CHANGE INSTANTLY TO DRIVE YOURSELF TO SUCCESS!

The world's greatest motivator,Anthony Robbins, who from a fat, broke, man turned millionaire at age 24,said that the TURNING POINT OF HIS LIFE was when he finally DECIDED one day that enough is enough! He will never once again tolerate anything less than what he knows he is capable of! and he committed to himself to never indulge in anything that he knows is of negative influence! At that very moment, CHANGE HAPPENED! And he became one of the world's most inspirational story!

Now,for change to happen in an instant, there are 3 steps.

1)Raise your STANDARDS! THINK OF WHAT YOU ARE TRULY CAPABLE OF AND COMMIT TO ACHIEVING THEM NO MATTER WHAT!

2)Destroy your Limiting Beliefs! Everyone has them, whether it's ''the world is cruel, there is not enough money for everyone, money is the root of all evil,i am too ugly, too intimidating to succeed,it is too hard, too long, too etc etc''. The goal is to never let them control you, control them, use them as a motivation. Say '' Hey,you know what,i am going to prove everyone wrong and be the first to do this''. Gandhi would never have achieved independence for India if not for his unwavering and total faith and belief in the Power of Non Violent Opposition.

3) Find the best Strategy! If you truly apply the first 2 steps,i believe that no matter what happens, you will find the way to achieve what you want! A tip-find someone already successful or a strategy that already works, and follow their steps. Discover what makes them tick and apply them! Chances are you too, will Succeed!

REMEMBER,CHANGE DO HAPPEN IN AN INSTANT!
USE THAT POWER TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!
COMMIT TO A BETTER YOU!

Meaning of All This

Have you ever wondered, WHAT IS THE MEANING OF ALL THIS?

Why are you here? What is your purpose in life? Where do you find meaning in doing what you do everyday? What is final dream you are chasing?

One of my close friends told me 'In life, you need to Punch Life in the FACE,if not,Life will Punch You back'..

'Just go with the flow and take life as it is,and it will bring you closer to what you are searching for. the final destination'

But what's next after that?

I've been doing a lot of soul searching lately.. Acca gonna start soon, classes,Progress Tests,driving,exams.. a repeating cycle..

Everyone has dreams, and i think the best way to counter all this is to review those dreams. What are you after?

some people go through their lives doing what other people want them to do.. i hope i don't end up like them..

I guess the reason movie stars end up doing criminal acts is because of the question,'' Is this all that fame brings? what's next for me? '' so they end up doing drugs and all..

I envy people who know what their ultimate passion is in life and set out whole heartedly to get what they want.. I wish every single day i can be like them..

Life is just passing us by everyday.. time and tide waits for no one..

Search deep down in ourselves and find that meaning that you know you have to pursue no matter what..

The War Begins Soon!

So,2 more days till war begins... AGAIN!

Seriously,i dun believe i have ever seen a course which has fewer holidays in a YEAR than ACCA!

FACT- IN AN ACCA YEAR, 3 weeks holidays in June, and 2 weeks holidays in December!

I DARE ANYONE TO CHALLENGE THAT :) in a good way :)

oh well,i guess, life as a money maker has to has its costs..

Well,to sum up my past 3 weeks of freedom, at the end of the day,i'd like to think that i have made the most out of it..

Most memorable moment-travelling myself with my gf on a fantastic holiday in Redang.. I went to heaven, did things that i really enjoyed(snorkelling, canoeing 50m in middle of the sea, getting cramp leg while snorkelling).. haih, good times do past so fast!
Paradise

Spending time with friends-one of things i enjoyed most was spending time with my old buddies.. My faithful buddy,Naveen,Chen,Eddy,Tana too.. seriously, may our friendship last forever... enjoyed playing games at chen's house, makan makan, playing sports,movies.. for a guy to say 'i love you guys',dun call me gay but i do feel that way..lol.. thanks and stay in touch k! No matter what!

Movies-gosh,i watched so many movies! Kinda like a movie expert ady.. really enjoyed it.. ps-watch State of Play!

Others-reading,catching up in the net,etc..

One more thing- On my birthday,i had a sweet time with my gf.. thanks baby,i love you.. and i got a pleasant surprise from my parents..

SO,before ACCA battle begins,a note to myself and to my fellow acca mates again, push yourself like you have never done before! NO VICTORY,NO SACRIFICE!

TO ACCA!

---Easy does it---

A SPECIAL NOTE TO MY FRIEND IZZATI,WHO HELPED ME WITH THE COMMENTS ISSUE, THANK YOU!! POSTING OF COMMENTS ARE NOW ENABLED! :):):) FEEL FREE TO RAVE OR RANT!

The Time Is Now!

What a week it has been..

1)my former school was infected with Influenza A(H1N1).. One class was shut down which i think was ridiculous! Should have shut down the whole school!

2) I have been watching too many movies in too few days. I think about 5 or more.

  • State Of Play- RATING-8.5/10. Seriously, watch this show. It was absolutely worth your money. 2 hours plus, but the intensity was there the whole way. Twists everywhere in the movie and Russell Crowe is a great actor!PROBABLY THE MOST UNDERATED MOVIE OF THE YEAR!

  • Terminator Salvation- RATING-8.5.10. PURELY my opinion. Yes,yes, people say this movie was too fu**ing serious,no breath of space,so so,no emotional value. WELL,as a person who has watched the first 2 terminator movies more than 50 times(the 3rd terminator movie was useless), i would say this movie was a class in its own. Come on,its post nuclear war era, everything is supposed to be dark and gloomy! And who else could have acted as Conner like he did! a fantastic actor! A hot, action packed, summer movie. Suggestion-do not watch this movie after a long day looking for a cool enjoyable movie. To enjoy this movie, you have to appreciate the terminator story first in and out. Watch the first 2 movies before watching salvation.
  • 17 Again- Rating-8/10. An enjoyable movie, exceeded my expectations. Really touching scenes in the movie and motivates you to live in the moment, not looking back. For the girls, enjoy the abs,for the guys, enjoy the funny witty moments in the movie!
  • Monster v Aliens- RATING-7.5/10. A good movie which was hillarious! SUGGESTION-ONLY WATCH IN 3D!
  • Transformers 2-Revenge of the Fallen-RATING- 8/10. The movie was GREAT,no doubt, but i rewatched tranformers 1,and i personally thought the first movie was much better. Problem was, nobody expected transformers 1 to be that good! In the 2nd movie,it was a case of same tricks, more variety, but less surprises. Yes,megan as usual, provided candy eye,but Sam(shia le bouf) was just too helpless in the movie for me. In the first movie,he showed guts by sacrificing himself before Megatron, but in the 2nd movie,ZITS!!! ZERO!!! NADA!!! He didnt do much except running and whining a bit. A reluctant hero gone wrong. Simple. Action was good though, but for some, may get tiring after a while.
3) Michael Jackson DIED! 50 years old!

Thats what brings me to the title. It just goes to show that no matter who you are, live your life THEY WAY YOU WANT IT,NOT OTHERS! Just ask yourself this question-20 years from now, don't you wish you HAD TAKEN MORE CHANCES,TAKEN MORE RISKS WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG,HAD BEEN BRAVER,MORE DARING,MORE IMPULSIVE? TAKE THAT CHANCE
NOW! Your own way,your life!

Redang Paradise!

I am back!

Though i wished i could have stayed longer.. seriously,i dont mind living there forever...

But firstly, this whole trip was very very very last minute.. My ACCA friends wanted me to go to Langkawi with them, but i had already been there last year.. and the last time i went,i spent close to rm 800.. A difficult and tough decision to make.. in the end,i had to turn them down.. so sorry guys!

And then, my 2 other amigos musketeers,Naveen and Chen,we were planning to go somewhere..

But TIME is not on my side.. not when i only have 3 WEEKS ONLY!

In the end,i decided to plan on my own.. Redang came up and instantly i was hooked..

The first resort i searched was the one i stayed.. and what a great time i had!

It was the first time i had planned out a trip on my own[albeit with help from my gf :)].. everything had to be perfect... it all HAPPENED so fast.. 2 days and that was it.. i booked a 3d/2n package at Redang Beach Resort..

Somehow i was attracted to Redang only, despite considering Perhentian,Tioman,etc..

FORGET the 'commercialism of redang curse, too many ppl,no fun' cliche..
REDANG WAS A BLAST!

There was so many First Times..

First time exploring freely.. first time snorkelling!..

First time seeing a shark! First time kayaking..

Redang.. definitely not the last time i will be there..

*more to come*

TOP 5!

1) Holidays has started, but i stressed out.. it's as if waiting for something inevitable to happen.. or maybe because my hols is only 3 weeks.. WHICH OTHER COURSE HAS FEWER HOLIDAY PERIOD FOR EACH SEMESTER?

2) SO,
after all the sulking and petulance,RONALDO has finally gotten his wish to leave. Know what i say? GOOD RIDDANCE!! SO BE IT!!!

3) The feeling of always wanting to be more than what you are now.

4) Last Sentence from Terminator Salvation movie..(which was a great movie!)- THERE IS NO FATE BUT WHAT WE MAKE FOR OURSELVES.

5) IT IS NOT WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS TO YOU , BUT HOW YOU REACT TO IT THAT REALLY MATTERS.

H1N1 REACHES PANDAMEC LEVEL!

In one way or another,it was inevitable..

every now and then in the history of time, something will happen that will shake the whole world..

make no MISTAKES. WE ARE AT WAR.

Let's look at the facts.
  1. WE ARE FIGHTING AGAINST SOMETHING WHICH HAS NO CURE AS YET.
  2. IT IS AIRBORNE. how do you stop something which spreads in invisible air?
  3. Malaysia,as of today, has 11 CONFIRMED CASES. AND COUNTING.
  4. WHO has finally declared the Flu AT PANDEMIC LEVEL. WHICH MEANS IT IS CURRENTLY " NOT STOPPABLE".
  5. At this point, the key word here is not PREVENTION , but CONTAINMENT.
I am still surprised that most of us Malaysians, still have not been donning face masks.

Or could it be we are just waiting until something really bad happens? when the number of cases increases to 100 in Malaysia?

Let's hope it's not that. And that we are just being calm under pressure.

ACCA EXAMS OVER!

WELL, the exams are over..

FINALLY..

but somehow, when the lady mc announced ''attention students, the time has ended.. the exam is now over...." i didnt exactly jump for joy..

it took a while to sink in..

then,i realised the real reason..

it was more
RELIEF than anything else..

i still remembered the 4 weeks studying period..

everyday was dedicated (almost everyday) to one paper

F4-CORPORATE AND BUSINESS LAW..

a paper which requires pure memorising work.. so there i was, just memorising over and over and over again..
in the end,when f4 ended,i was emotionless..
didnt know how to react..
i had post traumatic exam stress... PTES syndrome (or PEST SYNDROME? Pest factors?) in the nite,i would find myself still recalling all the facts of law even after the exam ended.. crazy..

well, ACCA is actually a fantastic course..

but definitely not one for the faint hearted..

You have been warned :)

Knowing what we REALLY want

i probably not the only person who has this opinion..

not many young people nowadays
ACTUALLY really know what they want in life...

i mean,go ahead and ask randomly a group of 10 or 15 youths anywhere..
Chances are probably out of 10,only 2 or 3 will actually know what they really want to achieve in LIFE!

or maybe the truth is,we KNEW IT ALL ALONG deep down in ourselves..

maybe the real question is WHY ARE WE HERE?

Some people may be familiar with the term RAT RACE..
It's basically like this..
SCHOOL> COLLEGE> UNIVERSITY> FIRST JOB> WORK HARD> 25 TO 30 YRS OLD-GET MARRIED> WORK HARDER> FIRST HOME> FIRST CHILD> WORK HARDER-PROMOTIONS> SAVE FOR CHILD'S EDUCATION> KEEP ON WORKING TO PAY THE BILLS>STUCK IN RAT RACE TILL RETIREMENT

Just today,i met an elderly who was a government servant for 30 years.. he said, back in those old days, money didnt really matter..

today,it DOES.. no matter how you put it,one thing is for sure, MONEY DOES SOLVE A LOT OF THINGS..

SO,my message here is simple..

PLAN YOUR DREAM FUTURE! Resolve to tell yourself, i must know what i really want!!

a lot of money? how much exactly? will RM 100000 do for you? or 1 million? or 5 million?

" those who fail to plan, plan to fail"

Inspiring Video ROCKY BALBOA

One of the most inpiring movie clips i have ever seen. Always gets me pumping when the going gets tough. ENJOY!

A blogging journey never ends!

They say always expect the unexpected.

I never expected myself to blog ever again since my last Friendster blogging experience. Blogging to me was too much work, too much time, and too much energy gone to waste... plus, you are revealing your personal stuff to others. which defeats the word "personal" rite? so in the end,i gave up..

But here i am once again blogging,

I decided that hey, maybe there is something good about it.. after all over 50 million bloggers cant be wrong right?

To,my best friend Naveen,i know you would be surprised to see me blogging again..

SOOO,

Here's to a personal blog of mine which hopefully,

will last longer than i expect it to be..

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!!!
