Best Things to Do In Penang!

Ahh,Penang, the Jewel of the Peninsular Malaysia. After so many years,it is nice to see that despite the hustle and bustle of modernisation, Penang is still a favourite among holiday revellers.

Following my umpteenth trip to Penag last week,i have composed a list of 'MUST DO-S' when you are in Penang. Here it is:

1) Persiaran Gurney Hawker Centre-always full during the nite no matter weekdays or weekends. Must Trys include Fried Oyster, Penang Asam Laksa, Ice Kacang -Rm2.50,and Grill fish.

2)Lorong Selamat Famous Cendol- This stall has been ever existent for more than 20 years, appeared in The Star,New Straits Times, etc. Very sweet and refreshing cendol. Nothing you can get in Kuala Lumpur, only in Penang.

3) Eat Famous Local dishes- The best food in Penang is undoubtly located at some of the dirtiest places in Penang. Must have is Penang Asam Laksa rm2.70 at bottom of Kek Lok Si Temple. There is a seafood restaurant at the deep end of Batu Ferringhi whih serves great seafood-large mussels, crabs, prawns, fishes.

4) Visit Kek Lok Si Temple-it doesn't matter which religion your faith is,here, you will see Indians,Chinese, and Malays. Very uplifting and the sellers speak good English! GO 1 Malaysia!

5) Visit the Local Goods Nite Market at Batu Ferringhi-almost synonymous with the name Batu Ferringhi, you will find all types of Branded goods being sold-bags,purse,wallets,Ray Band sunglasses, unique handcrafts. For me,the best thing is the Dvds selling at rm 4 per disk. Super super cheap and super super illegal, but who can resist the temptation to buy them? Even the foreigners were buying them like hot cakes. Ps- of the 15 dvds i bought, all of them were superb quality!

Viva la Penang!

Skytrex Adventure-Big Thrill!

I had heard a lot about how exciting Skytrex was and couldn't wait to experience it myself.

Boasting 22 challenges, the Big Thrill certainly packs a tough punch. On event day,21 December 2009, we arrived just on time at the venue at Bukit Cahaya,Shah Alam.

After a short bus shuttle to the Skytrex area,we were give a briefing by Mr Julien Rapellin, the director of Skytrex. Next, we geared up and had a training session on how to use the carabiner and pulley and safety.

Gearing up.

The Big Thrill course was supposed to accomodate beginners who don't like things to be too easy.

The first challenge was a stunning ladder climb up 15 metres. Unforgiving, relentless,it was hard just trying to catch my breath. A look down sent shivers down my spine but i kept pushing.

The other challenges were 'CRAZY ZIG ZAG, ROCKET FLYING FOX, SLIPPERY TUBE(Which was the hardest in my opinion), TARZAN SWING, and the final finale of Flying fox over a distance of 50 metres. WOO HOO!

Overall,a great experience,i had a great time with all my friends and though we ended with tired limbs and sore fingers,it was worth it! We conquered it!

Next up, Extreme Challenge!
